Nepalese Cultural Centre NZ Inc. is a charitable, Non-profit organization, established on March 2008 with an objective to provide and promote about Nepalese Culture in New Zealand and also to live in New Zealand with peace and harmony, adopting Nepalese Culture. The Centre is running Nepalese Language classes to all interested kiwis from different ethnic groups for last three years, apart from carrying other cultural activities.

During its past twelve years, The Centre has organized several events that helped kiwis to learn about Nepalese culture. This also helped people of this country to understand each other’s culture. Some of the valuable and significant events the Centre is running and worth mentioning are Mha Puja, trips to temples during Bijaya Dashami Festival and language classes. Several orientation programs were organized for kiwis with the objective to provide cultural information about Nepal.

The Centre organized it’s first “Multi Ethnic Dance Festival on 23 July 2016 at Mt. Eden War Memorial. The participating groups were seen to be truly enjoying the performances of not only their own group but also the entire evening activities. The programme encompassed a variety of performers and it adds to the beauty of a city is its level of acceptance of various people who can comfortably feel accepted within the new city despite being from another country. In Auckland city over the past decade the diversity of ethnicity has increased. It is very vital that we celebrate and take opportunities to make all ethnic groups feel welcome. Therefore, the Centre decided to organize this type of event every year.

The Nepali Cultural Centre NZ Inc has continued to celebrate and enhance diverse community participation in events which add significant cultural value to Auckland. This was evident in the Second Multi Ethnic Dance Festival hosted by the Nepali Cultural Centre, held at the Dorothy Winstone Centre, Auckland Girl’s Grammar School, on the 4th of November 2017.
